Wildflower pottery, paintings and jewelry by Lou Beatty reflect Colorado's grand landscape from it's delicate flower to it's magnificent mountains and plains.
It is hard for her to believe that 40 years have past since she first sat down at a potter's wheel. Lou will tell you, "time flies when your having fun." She is currently producing a line of ^5 stoneware pottery. Each piece is meticulously handmade and painted with an original design, inspired by the wildflowers she admires on her daily walks. Her latest fascination is the jewelry pendants and earrings, which are also made from clay, using stamps for texture and glaze to create abstract landscapes. A painter at heart, she has been dabbling on canvas since her first oil painting class in the 4th grade. These days, her favorite subject are large impressionistic garden spots. Most of her large paintings are acrylic, but she also works in pastels and watercolor.Weather she is working large or small, abstract or realistic, her passion to create has been a driving force in her daily life since childhood.
