Pam Cook is a metalsmith who lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is a Colorado native raised on a farm near Berthoud. Pam attended Colorado State University, earning her degree in accounting in 1977. She worked for over 18 years in various accounting positions at Woodward Governor Company.
In 1998, Pam took a jewelry/metalsmith class through the Fort Collins Parks and Rec Department. The class sparked her interest in metalsmith work. Pam uses traditional metalsmithing techniques such as piercing, sawing, fusing and reticulation in her work. She adds patinas to many of her pieces to add color and enhance the texture on her pieces. Texture plays a vital role in her jewelry designs. She works primarily in copper, pewter, and silver. Her line of jewelry includes pendants, pins, earrings and bracelets.
In 2004, Pam began experimenting with fused glass. She cuts and stacks layers of glass, and then fuses them in a kiln. She adds findings to create earrings, pendants and pins. She loves to work with Dichroic glass. This is a glass with a metallic coating. The brilliance and color change in Dichroic is very exciting.
