Becky specializes in temari and quilted landscapes with Colorado flair. She has been working with various fiber arts for 40 years. Becky started out making big quilts, but over time, realized that she had more fun and could be more creative with much smaller framed quilted landscapes. She loves incorporating a Colorado theme into her pieces of art. Recently Becky has been working with a new technique called “punch quilting”, that gives her pieces a 3-D look. Instead of stitching, the fabric pieces are “punched” into a foam board base. She has also been making temari for many years. Temari has been a Japanese folk art tradition for centuries. Most temari are in the shape of balls and feature colorful and intricate geometric patterns of threads wrapped around a core, usually a styrofoam ball. But she maybe the only temari artist who also uses beach rocks that she collects.
